Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub is an American actress, comedian and activist. Born in the Soviet Union to Jewish parents She began her career as a child performer soon after her move to the United States. Her fame was boosted by her appearances in AT&T commercials on TV as salesperson Lily Adams from 2013 to 2016 and since the year 2020. In addition to her commercial appearances, she also appeared as a regular on the Yahoo! Screen science-fiction comedy Other Space (2015). She was also a regular role on the NBC drama This Is Us 2016-2017. Vayntrub has also been voiced as Squirrel Girl on the Marvel Rising franchise since 2018 after she was chosen to voice the character in the unaired TV pilot for New Warriors. Vayntrub is a Jewish person, was born in Tashkent (Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic), USSR. Her parents and her left antisemitism at the age of two. They moved to West Hollywood. She began performing in Mattel Barbie commercials at the age of five because of the financial difficulties of her family. Vayntrub briefly was a student at Beverly Hills High School. However, she quit school following her sophomore year. She earned an GED and was able to earn an undergraduate degree in Arts (Communication) from the University of California San Diego. Through the Upright Citizens Brigade she studied the art of improv comedy.
